Help Chimpanzees: Hallmark Refuses to Discuss Offensive Cards

Action Alert

Dear Sylvia,

Did you know that the „smiling“ chimpanzees often displayed on birthday and other greeting cards are actually expressing fear, anxiety, or stress? Their forced grin is known as a „fear grimace“ among primate experts, which makes sense: Eyewitness investigations have revealed that physical abuse of chimpanzees is standard practice in the entertainment industry.

For years, PETA has requested meetings with Hallmark Cards to discuss the use of chimpanzee „actors“ for its greeting cards, but the company has repeatedly refused even to talk about the issue with us.

Please contact Hallmark Cards and politely ask it to stop selling greeting cards that feature chimpanzee „actors.“ Let the company know that these cards are disturbing and offensive—not amusing.

Tell Hallmark Cards to Stop Exploiting Chimpanzees!

Please forward this message to friends, family members, and coworkers.

Thank you for everything that you do to help animals.
